Dangote Refinery to Begin Direct Petrol Supply September 15

The Dangote Group has confirmed that its 650,000 bpd Petroleum Refinery will commence direct supply of petrol (PMS) to 11 states starting Monday, September 15, 2025. The announcement was made in a press release shared via the Group’s official X account.

The refinery set the gantry price at ₦820 per litre, with retail pump prices at ₦841 for Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti, and ₦851 for Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara. The initiative includes free delivery to registered filling stations, with gradual nationwide expansion planned. This move follows Dangote’s ₦720 billion investment in 4,000 CNG trucks to distribute 65 million litres daily, targeting ₦1.7 trillion in annual consumer savings.

The direct supply is expected to stabilise fuel distribution, enhance downstream efficiency, and revive dormant stations. It also aligns with Nigeria’s energy security agenda by reducing import dependence. While the rollout was delayed by industry disputes including PETROAN’s suspension notice and a brief NUPENG strike, an MoU signed with unions and regulators resolved the standoff. With operations set to begin, the Dangote Refinery is positioned to transform Nigeria’s PMS supply chain and strengthen the broader energy market.
