Mawani Signs SAR 200 Million Contract with ARASCO for Grain Logistics Centre at King Abdulaziz Port

Mawani has signed a SAR 200 million (USD 53 million) contract with ARASCO to build a grain logistics centre at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The agreement, concluded on 7 December, involves the construction of a 40,000-square-metre storage and distribution facility. The signing ceremony was attended by Mawani President Eng. Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua and ARASCO CEO Ziyad A. Alsheikh, alongside other senior officials.

The new facility will handle essential food commodities and bulk grains, with a storage capacity of up to 100,000 metric tonnes. It will include advanced silos, grain-handling systems, and specialised equipment for vessel unloading. The project aims to increase the port’s grain-handling capability, reduce turnaround times, and improve integration with the wider logistics network. It is expected to create over 3,000 jobs and strengthen national supply chains.

This investment supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by enhancing food security and expanding port capacity. The project also aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to deepen private-sector participation.
