The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a $6 billion investment in Africa’s tourism and hospitality industry, a move projected to create 70,000 new jobs across the continent.
The announcement was made at the UAE–Africa Tourism Investment Summit 2025 in Dubai, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Led by H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, the summit convened over 20 African ministers, investors, and industry leaders to strengthen cooperation in tourism, infrastructure, aviation, and digital innovation.
Al Marri emphasized Africa’s vast tourism potential, calling the investment “a gateway for sustainable partnerships and economic growth.” The initiative sets the stage for FHS Africa 2026, where focus will shift to translating the $6 billion plan into actionable projects and partnerships.
