Poland will receive €451.5 million ($518 million) from the European Union to upgrade its rail and maritime infrastructure under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) 2024 programme.
Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak announced that the funds will support four key projects, including enhancements to the Rail Baltica corridor and improved port access across the country.
Rail Baltica—part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T)—connects Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. The initiative seeks to align railway infrastructure with EU standards and strengthen connectivity between the Baltic States and the wider European rail network, reinforcing Poland’s role as a central transit hub in the region.
