Orange Tunisie has introduced a new satellite broadband service across Tunisia, leveraging its partnership with the company Eutelsat to expand internet access in underserved areas. The service, branded Orange Satellite, offers speeds of up to 100 Mbps and is designed primarily to support communities where terrestrial telecommunications infrastructure remains limited or unavailable.
The connectivity solution relies on Eutelsat’s latest-generation KONNECT satellite, which delivers improved bandwidth, stronger signal stability, and higher data throughput compared with earlier systems. Orange Tunisie has structured the service into two packages, including a dedicated plan tailored for professionals and businesses operating in remote locations.
The rollout follows a broader multi-year partnership between Orange Africa and Middle East and Eutelsat aimed at expanding satellite broadband across several markets, including Jordan, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Democratic Republic of the Congo. The agreement forms part of Orange’s wider strategy to scale satellite connectivity across Africa and the Middle East through both geostationary and low-earth orbit technologies.
