Morocco’s National Railway Office has launched a major infrastructure project to improve road access to the Grand Casablanca Stadium, a flagship venue in the country’s preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The project carries an estimated budget of MAD 140 million, or about 14 million dollars, and is designed to transform traffic flow and strengthen transport connectivity around the stadium site.
The works will include new road axes and bridge structures that bypass the busy Casablanca–Sidi Qasim railway line, ensuring smooth vehicle access without disrupting rail operations. ONCF said the structures will be built to international engineering standards, with deep pile foundations, reinforced concrete, advanced waterproofing systems, and design lifespans exceeding 100 years. Construction will involve significant steel use and large-scale excavation.
The tender sets strict requirements for contractors, including financial guarantees, prior experience on large projects, and robust safety and quality systems. With bids due by February 26, the project marks a critical step in Morocco’s broader infrastructure upgrade ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
