Indian infrastructure conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Monday that its Power Transmission and Distribution division has secured a series of large-scale grid infrastructure projects across the Middle East, valued between Rs2,500 crore and Rs5,000 crore. The contracts underscore L&T’s growing footprint in global energy infrastructure and its strategic role in advancing regional power connectivity.
The new projects are anchored on the 400kV Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Super Grid Interconnection, which links the power networks of member states to enhance grid stability and optimize generation capacity. L&T’s scope includes constructing a 400kV substation in the UAE, a direct interconnection to Oman, and 132kV substations to meet surging electricity demand across the region. Additionally, in Saudi Arabia, the company will deliver 380kV overhead transmission lines supporting renewable energy integration.
The projects are expected to enhance cross-border energy reliability, support renewable integration, and strengthen regional power resilience. They further consolidate L&T’s leadership in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, positioning the USD 30 billion multinational as a key player in advancing sustainable power infrastructure across the Middle East.
