Kuwait Awards $253 Million Contract for Shuwaikh Water Distribution Complex Development

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEW) in Kuwait has awarded a significant contract valued at 77.7 million dinars (approximately $253 million) for the development of the Shuwaikh Water Distribution Complex. The contract has been granted to Khalid Ali Al-Kharafi & Brothers Co., a leading contractor in Kuwait with expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects. This move highlights Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its water supply network.

The project will involve the construction, maintenance, and development of the Shuwaikh complex, improving its technical and operational capabilities. The upgrades are expected to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and capacity of the water distribution system in Shuwaikh and surrounding areas. The project is an integral part of Kuwait’s broader strategy to modernize essential infrastructure and ensure the long-term sustainability of its water supply.

Upon completion, the expanded complex will address the increasing demand for water, improve network performance, and reduce operational risks, reinforcing Kuwait’s national water supply system. The project underscores the MEW’s focus on partnering with local contractors to drive national development goals.
