Adamawa Approves ₦30bn for Statewide Development

The Adamawa State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved over ₦30 billion in funding for projects across key sectors. The decision was taken at the Council’s 15th meeting in Yola, signaling a strong push toward infrastructure renewal, education reform, human capital development, and tourism.

A significant ₦21.8bn was earmarked for additional works on the Adamawa Super Highway, while ₦2.4bn will go toward internal roads in the Army Barracks and ₦1.6bn for rehabilitating the NYSC Camp Gate–Borong Road. The education sector will see ₦4.5bn allocated to overseas postgraduate scholarships and ₦395m for science textbooks. Broadcasting received ₦184.2m for studio upgrades and new FM/AM transmitters at ABC Yola.

The investment aims to modernize Adamawa’s infrastructure, expand educational opportunities, and improve public services. The highway project will enhance mobility and economic connectivity, while scholarships and textbooks are designed to raise academic standards. Broadcasting upgrades will strengthen information dissemination, and the planned amusement park in Yola North will boost tourism and leisure. Collectively, these initiatives underscore the Fintiri administration’s commitment to inclusive growth, balanced development, and youth empowerment.
